The Greycroft Portal Finds

A selection of images from  i tem no: GCPF/WF/08 of the Greycroft Portal finds, a deck of 20 cards the backs of which show an electron microscopic image of the crystal structure of borosilicate glass. This glass was used by British Nuclear Fuels Limited to encapsulate high level radioactive waste during the process of vitrification, which took place at Sellafield in the twentieth century.  The front faces of the cards combine images from the collection of Greycroft portal finds with characters from the major arcana of the Rider Waite Smith tarot deck. This deck comes with a set of verses that instruct the user as to how they may approach the deck. There are also two small cymbals which the user is instructed to chime at certain points in the procedure.
